Five neighbours in this South Shields street are the town's latest lottery winners

They have each bagged £1,000 after their NE34 6NA postcode was chosen as a daily prize winner for November 22 by the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his best wishes to the residents of Windsor Gardens, South Shields, adding: ‘What a brilliant surprise, congratulations to our winners in South Shields. I’m sure they’ll enjoy spending the cash and treat themselves to something special.”

Their payout follows just days after 17 residents of White Rocks Grove, in nearby Whitburn, received £1,000 each after also triumphing in a daily draw.

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and People’s Postcode Lottery players have so far raised more than £600 million for thousands of good causes.

This latest draw was promoted by the Postcode Care Trust, which provides grant aid to improve the health and lives of communities, with further details about the lottery’s work available at www.postcodelottery.co.uk/good-causes.
