Persian cat Kevin escaped from the garden of his home in Lakeside, Marsden, South Shields, on Thursday, May 21 and has not been seen since.
Owners Joanne and Mike Burr are appealing for his safe return, setting up a Facebook group – called Help Find Little Kevin – which now has more than 680 members.

Joanne explained that Kevin – who turned one in May alongside fellow pet cats Colin and Carlos – was born with a portosystemic shunt, requiring a major operation earlier this year.
The longer he remains missing, the more his family worry about Kevin’s condition as he was due to have follow-up tests at the vet and requires additional attention.
Joanne said: “He has come on so much and he is such a little character.

Due to his medical problems, Kevin could not be chipped or neutered until he fully recovered from his operation in January. This has not yet been able to go ahead.
The family has also contacted vets and shelters in the area, as well as leafleting around South Shields.
