Investigation continues into BMW and van incident at Whitemare Pool on Good Friday

Two men and a woman who arrested after a BMW collided with a van near the Whitemare Pool roundabout on Good Friday remain under investigation, police have confirmed.

Two men aged 32 and 31, and a woman aged 30, were detained following the A184 incident, which took place around 8.45am on April 2.

Officers said the BMW occupant collided with the van at the traffic lights on the A184 slip road at Whitemare Pool, causing significant damage to the back window of the vehicle, then allegedly left the scene. No one was injured.

Police said at the time that all parties involved are believed to be known to each other.

On April 6, police confirmed that the trio had been released under investigation and that enquiries were ongoing.

Today, April 16, a Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: “All three are still under investigation.”
