Joe McElderry takes over Sunderland launderette for new music video
Joe is promising to get fans in a spin with his new music.
“I can’t wait for people to hear my new music,” says Joe McElderry as he took over a city launderette to shoot his latest video.

The South Shields-born entertainer is back with new music and it’s rooted in his native North East.
Joe admits that, at times, over his 17 year career, he’s fallen in and out of love with the music industry.
“But one thing that has always gave me my purpose is in this industry is performing and sharing with audiences,” he said.
In February, he started writing again and the result is a brand new batch of music - and he says it’s been a lot of fun.
“I went in with the mindset of no rules,” he said. “I didn’t care if it was nothing like my usual sound or what people were expecting. I just wanted to have fun.”

His new single, Love Me Out Loud, is all about relationship drama with a sprinkling of disco and he chose to shoot the single right here in Sunderland.
He and his crew, from production company, Crew Gal, took over Creswell Launderette in Creswell Terrace, Ashbrooke, to shoot the video.
The business is somewhat of an institution in SR2 and was the inspiration behind The Toy Dolls’ 1987 track, The Ashbrooke Launderette.
It also hosted a secret gig recently by new Sunderland act, Bill Banks.
Joe said: “It’s been really exciting to shoot here - the track is about break ups and emotional baggage and this location was perfect.
“It’s been lovely to work with a North East crew on this, the energy was electric, and I can’t wait to release the track in June.”
You can also catch Joe on home turf when he headlines Bents Park in South Shields on July 19.
North Shields-based Crew Gal offer training opportunities for people to help them on a pathway to employment in the creative industries.
