Landlord turns pubs closed due to tier 3 rules into drop-off sites for charity donations to help those in need this Christmas
Landlord Michael Ward – who saved the Marsden Inn from closure when he took over last Christmas – is determined to do his bit to bring some festive cheer to the people of South Tyneside during this difficult time.

He said: “Although the pubs are not able to open we want to do what we can to help people across South Tyneside.
"We are asking people who would like to drop off items to The Lookout or The Marsden Inn between 9am and 6pm, Monday to Sunday.
People can leave items at the door and if they can’t drop them off we can come and pick items up.

"I posted it on Facebook and the response has been absolutely amazing,” he said.
The Marsden Inn is running a takeaway Sunday dinner service and is also providing takeaway Christmas dinners.
