Lindisfarne lockdown: eerie video captures life on Holy Island as tourists stay away


Guesthouse owner Danny Dagan has made a YouTube video showing the impact of the coronavirus lockdown on Easter Sunday.
Danny, who runs Belvue Guesthouse, said: “Every year, thousands visit Holy Island at Easter, but this year the crowds have been asked to stay away.

Hide Ad“The film captures the eerie sense of a village on lockdown, with empty streets and all businesses closed.”
On Facebook, the Island's Ship Inn pub commented: “Very sad, very poignant, very necessary, thank you Belvue for this very unusual video and with all of us in business on the island we hope normality will return when it’s safe to do so.”
The video has been viewed nearly 500 times.
