Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall self isolating after production staff on The Search test positive
The 27-year-old is set to appear via video-link for Saturday's show where she will continue in her role as mentor alongside bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
A statement released by the production team of Little Mix: The Search on Thursday, October 21, said: “Jade has to self-isolate this week and will therefore be carrying out her role as mentor on Little Mix The Search from home.
“For this Saturday’s show, Jade will participate via video-link, continuing to mentor alongside Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Perrie.”
It comes after last week’s show had to be cancelled after a small number of production staff tested positive for coronavirus.
Six bands are due to compete for a place on the pop group's 2021 tour, following weeks of pre-recorded audition episodes.
BBC confirmed the postponement in a statement which said: “We can confirm that a small number of people on the Little Mix The Search production have tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.
“Due to the format of the show we have made the decision to postpone Saturday’s programme.
“There are rigorous protocols in place to manage Covid-19 as the safety of all those involved in the production is paramount.
“We hope to be back on air on Saturday 24 October.”
The winners will have the opportunity to support the ‘Confetti’ singers on their 2021 tour.
