Amelia-Rose Sturrock is calling on members of the public to add to the sculptures and rock trails that she has been creating in coastal areas across the region.
The community volunteer has painted rocks and left them on walking trails along the South Shields and Easington Colliery coasts in the hope that it will boost the spirits of those who see them.

She has also made sculptures of out rocks but people have been knocking them over – despite her leaving a card to encourage the public to add to them.
Amelia has explained how her idea to make the rock art began.
She said: “I just started by painting rocks and leaving them on walking trails and people seemed to enjoy seeming them.
“I created a Facebook page called ‘Rock that walk and give your gnome a home’ so people can join in and post their creations on it.

“People have been telling me that they have enjoyed seeing them and some have posted their own creations.”
The small minority of people who are knocking the sculptures over are stopping others from joining in the fun.
Ameila added: “I want people to find them and add to them but some people are destroying them even though I’ve left a card to explain what they are.”
