Dozens of families have been pictured sledging at Cleadon Hills as the cold snap continued.

Although there are areas in the North East which have received much heavier snow, the sprinkling Cleadon Hills received was enough to draw a considerable number of visitors.

Snow has been falling in the region since Sunday, February 7, and the Met Office has a yellow weather warning for snow and ice in place until Friday, February 12.

But the forecast hasn’t predicted anymore snowfall in the area although temperatures will remain cool and won’t top 3C.

The next two days (Thursday, February 11 and Friday, February 12) are set to bring sunny spells and clouds.
