Police are searching for a missing South Shields woman who was last seen in Manchester.

Hannah Sharples, 32, has not been in contact with her friends and family since leaving her home in the Chichester area of South Shields on May 26.

Hannah is known to have a number of friends across the north of England who she could be staying with and was last seen in the Manchester area on May 29.

Officers believe Hannah may not realise that she has been reported as missing.

Police want to make sure she is safe and well, and are now asking Hannah or anybody who has seen her to get in touch.

Inspector Paul Knox, of Northumbria Police, said: “We believe Hannah has travelled outside our force area and she was last sighted in the Manchester area on May 29.

“There is a belief that she may have intended to travel to Hull afterwards, and despite a team of officers carrying out a range of enquiries in a bid to confirm movements, we still have not heard from her.

“Nobody is in any trouble but we just want to make sure Hannah is safe and well – and are appealing for her or anybody who has seen her or knows her current whereabouts to contact us immediately.”

Hannah is described as a white female, 5’5 of medium build with dyed blonde hair in a ponytail. She has green eyes and has a tattoo of the word ‘Forever’ on her left hand.

Hannah, or anyone who knows where she may be residing, is asked to contact police by calling 101 quoting log 1359 270521.
