Diane Everett, from Brockley Whins, had been looking forward to her trip away in September last year – but from the moment she got on the plane she knew her weight was going to be an issue.
From requiring a seat belt extension on the plane to needing a seat in every bar, at 21st 7.5lb Diane said that her size was holding her back.

Hide AdShe said: “My friends would all be dancing and I thought ‘I need to do something about it.’ I thought 'this is the last time this is happening.’”
When home, the 53-year-old took action and immediately joined a Slimming World group in Simonside Social Club.
Swapping ready meals and vending machine snacks for home-cooked dishes, Diane managed to lose 7st 6lb in around 10 months.
Now weighing 14st 1.5lb, Diane has gone from a size 26 to a size 16 and feels better than ever.

Hide AdShe said: “It was always a chore going shopping, but now it’s lovely being able to go to any shop rather than having to go to to a specialist shop.
“I can do a lot more now I have lost the weight.
“As I started losing the weight I started to walk more and and even got a bike through the bike to work scheme, so now I have bike rides four times a week.”
Diane has continued to lose weight during lockdown after being placed on furlough from her job as a claims handler for Winn Solicitors.
And husband Graeme has also felt the benefits of Diane’s lifestyle change, managing to shed 3st 8.4lb.

Hide AdInitially weighing 18st 9.5lb, Graeme is now 15st 11lb and has gone from a 46in waist and a size XXL to a 38in waist and a size large.
Diane added: “We’ve never looked back.”
Diet before:
Breakfast: Nothing
Lunch: Iceland ready meal or Greggs
Dinner: Takeaway pizzas, curries or ready meals
Snacks: Crisps and chocolate bars
Diet after:
Breakfast: Two Weetabix with yogurt and sweetener
Lunch: Slimming World meal
Dinner: Home-made chilli or curry with vegetables.
Snacks: Fruit
