The neighbours, who all live in Trajan Avenue, South Shields, have netted £1,000 each after NE33 2AN was chosen as a prize winner in the latest People’s Postcode Lottery daily prize draw on June 21.

Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well wishes to the winners and added: “What a way to wrap up the weekend. Congratulations to our winners, I hope they enjoy their prizes.”

Trajan Avenue is not the first South Shields streets where neighbours have celebrated a recent lottery win.

A minimum of 32% of People’s Postcode Lottery ticket sales goes directly to charities and players have already raised more than £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

The latest draw was promoted by Save the Children, which has received nearly £9 million in funding from the ticket holders.

Save the Children connects parents, teachers, and childcare experts to build a brighter future for children across the UK by working with them to give them the support they need from the very start of life.
