We're channelling Derby Day rivalry to raise funds in Bradley Lowery's name

As the countdown is on for the next big derby day, The Bradley Lowery Foundation is channelling fan rivalry for a good cause.

Ahead of the Tyne-Wear Derby, scheduled for March 22, 2026, the charity launched in Brad’s name has launched the Donation Derby.

It’s a friendly - but slightly competitive - interactive campaign where fan rivalry is transformed into community support, raising vital funds for the foundation, which helps children with life-limiting conditions.

Supporters and fans can donate to the foundation based on who they think will win at the derby by visiting an in-person collection event or by donating online between March 1 and 22.

Throughout March, The Bradley Lowery Foundation’s Donation Derby will be appearing in public spaces such as shopping centres, like Eldon Square, participating supermarkets and pubs, as well as offices across the North East.

Locations in both Newcastle and Sunderland have been selected to keep the Donation Derby a fair match – no referee needed!

When visiting an in-person Donation Derby location, fans can see which club has the most donations by viewing the custom-built donation towers.

If you miss out on an in-person collection, you can still cast your vote for support via an online Donation Derby page featuring live updates from donation totals around the North East.

The Bradley Lowery Foundation helps to provide support in accessing medical treatment not available on the NHS, respite, and unforgettable experiences to families who need it the most, ensuring that every child can create precious memories.
