Pleased we are '˜liberal'
In reply to the correspondent (June 2) regarding liberalism, I wish to know how has it ruined this country?

The Chambers dictionary describes liberal as generous; noble-minded; free; in education directed towards the cultivation of the mind for its own sake. The word comes from the Latin “liber” which means free.
I am pleased to live in this country which is liberal and free rather than in North Korea or under Islamic State.
