Police appeal after seven-year-old boy hurt in collision with car in South Shields

A seven-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being hurt in a collision with a car in South Shields.

Now police have appealed to witnesses or drivers who may have dashcam footage of the incident to come forward and help in establishing exactly what happened.

Emergency services were called to The Nook at around teatime yesterday evening, Wednesday, January 18.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson confirmed the youngster had been taken to hospital but had not been seriously hurt: “Shortly after 6.10pm yesterday, Wednesday, police received a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Prince Edward Road roundabout near to the junction with Sunderland Road in South Shields.

“Emergency services attended the scene and a seven-year-old boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
