Police called after man takes ill and falls into busy South Shields road

Police were called to Boldon Lane, South Shields this afternoon after a pedestrian fell into the busy road.

At around 2.30pm police received a report that a pedestrian had taken ill and fallen into the road.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian was taken to hospital by paramedics. The road was cleared at around 3pm.
