Mrs Wilkinson, 70, from Fenwick Avenue, South Shields, joined the school in 1989 and has been at the school ever since.

She said she was sad to leave the school: “I have been there a long time and will miss the kids and people I have worked with, but my husband has been retired a long time, so it will be nice to enjoy my time with him.”
