This did not please the then king of England, Richard III, and he tried to impose a poll tax on the people.
This started the peasants’ revolt all over England culminating with a march on London and much rioting, death and bloodshed.

Hide AdEventually, Richard made concessions and the peasants disbanded and returned to their homes.
Almost immediately the concessions were revoked.
Fast forward to the 21st century, David Cameron has just made his revolt against the EU and gained concessions.
