Rafa Benitez: The best is yet to come from Dwight Gayle at Newcastle

The Newcastle United striker took his Championship goal tally for the season to 11 with two strikes against Barnsley this week.

And Benitez believes 25-year-old Gayle, signed from Crystal Palace in the summer for £10million, is improving every day.

“If he just carries on, he will improve,” said Benitez.

“He’s confident in himself, and, most importantly, working very hard.

“He understands what we do, so when we make tactical adjustments, he knows what to do.”

Benitez added: “I think he can improve.”
