Rangers target prolific Newcastle forward

Benitez has a good relationship with Rangers head of recruitment Frank McParland from their time together at Liverpool.

Hide AdArmstrong, keen to stay at Newcastle and help the club in the Championship, is reluctant to return to League One in the belief that he is ready to "step up" this season.
Presumably, United would be unwilling to loan Armstrong to another Championship club.
And if he is to have another loan, a spell in the Scottish Premiership could prove appealing to both Newcastle and Armstrong.
