The Roofers took the lead against RCA, whose last outing was a 6-1 thrashing at Newcastle Benfield on Saturday, inside two minutes through Chow as the Northern League legend picked up on a loose ball on the line to fire high into the roof of the net following an in swinging corner.

The visitors doubled their advantage just four minutes later after a free-kick from just over half way eluded everyone in the penalty area and fell to Michael Laws on the byline, allowing the front man to square it into the penalty area and Chow to double his tally.

Chow completed his hat-trick on 38 minutes as he closed down a long ball from midfield and successfully saw off the last defender on the edge of the area allowing him to cut in and beat former Roofing goalkeeper Andy Hunter from half way.

Just four minutes after the half-time interval, Stephen Callen drew one back for the hosts as he was played through in space on the edge of the area and chipped Dan Regan.

Hunter returned Roofing’s three-goal advantage on 53 minutes as the keeper got a hand to James Fairley’s cross from the right and deflected it into the back of his own net.

Eight minutes later and the evening’s goal scoring was brought to a close by Glen Lane who was able to tuck a crossfield ball neatly into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

But Roofing completed the win ahead of Saturday’s crunch game at West Allotment.
