Roundabout damaged in collision after Audi skids on busy South Shields road

A roundabout on a busy South Shields route has been damaged in a car crash.

Emergency services were called to the junction of the A194 Western Approach and West Way in Tyne Dock last night, Thursday, February 4.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 10.30pm yesterday we received a report of a road traffic collision the Western Approach, South Shields.

Direction signs on the roundabout at the junction of West Way and Western Approach have been left damaged by a collision.

“The driver of an Audi A4 reported he skidded on the road and collided with the roundabout, damaging street furniture in the process.

“No one was injured.”
