Shields ferry suspended because of fog

Nexus tweeted that the poor weather conditions mean there will be no ferry service for the remainder of the day, with Metro accepting tickets.

@My_Metro tweeted: "Due to fog unfortunately the ferry service has been suspended.

"Passengers are advised to make alternative travel arrangements. Metro will accept ferry tickets."

An earlier tweet read: "The Shield's Ferry service will be suspended for the remainder of the evening.

"They are currently arranging a replacement bus service."
