Sasha France, 12, and David France, 11, have been working hard to launch singing and acting careers after being spotted in a showcase event by talent scouts.

The pair, from Randolph Street, Jarrow, have been making music in Nashville after proud dad David France started entering them in to talent showcases in front of industry professionals.

David France, 43, who works in childcare, said: “Sasha has been singing for four years and David has been singing for 18 months.

“I heard about an audition at Riverside Cricket Ground, in Durham, on Facebook in July 2014 and applied for them both to take part.

“When Sasha performed there an agent from Connect Your Talent spotted her and asked her to do a talent showcase in Florida that same year, where she had to sing and act in front of agents and managers.

“Off the back of the trip to Florida, she has been picked up by a music agent and has been producing music in Nashville.”

Sasha has been working with industry professionals to write songs and flew out there in December 2015 paid for by her school, Jarrow Comprehensive, to produce the music.

Brother David also features on some of the tracks.

The siblings are having vocal coaching via Skype with experts in Nashville and with singing coach Julie Miles, from Vocal Ovation in High Mickley.

Sasha and David have also been pursuing acting and have been entering various music competitions together as double act called Dynamic Duo, including Beyond the Lights, in Newcastle, and are through to the next rounds of Britain Does Variety.

Mr France said: “They are entering competitions as a duo and their music is a mixture of reggae and pop.

“Sasha’s music is more of a rock and pop mix and she is a work in progress. I am hoping they will make careers out of it.”
