Guest of honour was Johnston Press North East Editorial Director Joy Yates - who was returning to her former school to take part in the ceremony.
Joy said: “It was an absolute honour to return to my old school to present achievement awards to the students.
“I fondly remember my school days at St Wilfrid’s and I enjoyed meeting the award-winners who clearly have bright futures ahead.”
Brendan Tapping, executive headteacher, said: “Whilst particular congratulations must be given to all the winners of the awards on their outstanding accomplishments, at St Wilfrid’s we make every effort to ensure that every child has successes to celebrate.
“We have no doubt that all of our students will excel in their future roles, and as we celebrate the achievements of our students, we take this opportunity to wish them well in their forthcoming studies and careers.”
The awards night also saw a musical performance given by Year 12 student Jenny Clark and a vote of thanks delivered by head girl Ruth Lloyd and head boy Ryan Fallon.
