South Shields woman sets off on Great Wall of China adventure
Janette Moffett, who lives in, Warwick Road, South Shields, has signed up to walk the Great Wall of China for charity.
The 47-year-old is now on a mission to raise £3,500 for The British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK, through sponsorship for the walk and by holding fund-raising activities.

Hide AdJanette, who is a manager at Oakwood Merchandising Ltd, which is a subsiduary of supermarket giant Tesco, said she is looking forward to her trek adventure, which will take place over 10 days in September. She said: “The event is organised through Tesco and when I read about it, I thought it was something I would really love to do.
“I thought it would be an amazing experience and would be raising money for charity as well.”
Janette, who is married to Tom, and has two children, Luke, 21, and 19-year-old Eve, said her family is being very supportive about her trip, where she will be among a group of 25 walkers.
She said both the charities are very worthwhile and she has been surprised by the amount of people who have told her they have diabetes, since she has been talking about the project.

Her aunt is running a coffee morning at Harton Methodist Church tomorrow, starting a 10am, where the proceeds will go towards the fundraising
