Bullying victims South Tyneside can bank on some support over the festive period.
The TSB branch in South Shields is giving South Tyneside Against Bullying (STAB) £200 to help keep its office open over Christmas and New Year.
The donation is part of a nationwide Christmas donation programme by TSB, which is giving every one of its branches money to gift to a local cause, as a little extra support at this time of year.
Bank manager Karen Hall said: “We’re delighted to be able to help South Tyneside Against Bullying with this donation.
“We chose to give this money to South Tyneside Against Bullying because we wanted to help the team keep their office operational over the festive period – when they don’t have any planned fundraising initiatives.
“This will take the strain and stress off the organisation of having to fundraise over the festive period. It’s fantastic to know that the £200 we are giving them will really help make a difference to people in our local community.”
Callum Carr, founder of South Tyneside Against Bullying sid: “I’d really like to thank TSB for the team’s support. It’s great to see a national company supporting the communities they serve at such a local level.
“The holidays can be a real financial strain on families so we don’t carry out public fundraising during this time. This donation is critical to enable us to operate during this time and provide vital services to our community.
“Without TSB South Shields’ support this may not have been possible.”
