South Tyneside bus and metro advice issued for May Bank Holiday schedule
The upcoming bank holiday weekend will see some changes to public transport across the North East.
Transport providers have released their full plans for the upcoming bank holiday weekend as another three day break approaches.
This will be the third extended weekend of the year and the final one until the end of August.

The all-important travel information has been issued by the Tyne and Wear Metro and bus services across the region.
After starting a new timetable over the weekend, the Tyne and Wear Metro will be adjusting its services over the weekend. The service will run to a Sunday service on the bank holiday Monday.
The service will also be putting additional trains across the system to ensure its smooth running on what is expected to be a very busy weekend for the region.
An update from Nexus, the company which operates the Tyne and Wear Metro system, says: “On Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May, train services may be busier than usual due to the Radio 1 Big Weekend event and football at the Stadium of Light.
“Extra services will be running, but trains will be busy and queuing systems may be in place. Please plan your journey in advance and leave extra travelling time.
“If you are going to the Radio 1 Big Weekend event and are travelling from Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside or South Tyneside, travel to Heworth Interchange. From there, dedicated event shuttle buses will take you to Herrington Park.
“If you are travelling from Sunderland or nearby areas, use Park Lane Interchange to connect with the event shuttle buses.”
Elsewhere across the region, Stagecoach buses will also run to a regular Sunday timetable. Previous bank holiday weekends saw E1, E2 and E6 services run to a Saturday timetable, but this will not be in place for the coming weekend.
Go North East buses across the region will run to a Sunday timetable throughout Monday, May 25.
After only returning to service following storm damage to the north terminal at the end of April, the Shields Ferry will also run throughout the weekend. unlike other services, the ferry runs to a regular Monday service on the bank holiday.
