South Tyneside charity announces free summer holiday activities for children
A South Tyneside charity is preparing to host free activities throughout the summer holidays.
South Tyneside-based Key Community is preparing to help families through its summer holidays programme.
Key will be providing free craft activities, snacks and take home-recipe bags on board its Key Community Bus as it works to keep children fed, active and engaged between July 20 and August 28.
The bus will be operating across the borough from Tuesday to Thursday, following its usual timetable.

Sessions will be available on a first come, first served basis and at the end of each visit, families will be able to collect a ‘Busto Pack’ which is designed to feed four people.
Children will be able to take part in creative activities on the bus’s upper deck - all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the session and the upper deck is accessible by staircase only.
No booking is required - full details can be found at: https://keycommunity.org.uk/key-community-bus/.
Throughout the summer, Key’s Prevention and Intervention team will also be on board the bus to offer advice and support to families who may need it.
Visitors will also be able to make use of a book swap library and free pre-loved school uniform from primary and secondary schools across the borough.
Uniform can also be requested via the Key to life Foodbank by messaging online at: https://www.facebook.com/KeytoLifeFoodbank or by calling 07833 613 393.
Families will also have the opportunity to enjoy a free coach trip to Beadnell on Thursday, July 30.
The trip will include a packed lunch and beach-based activities led by Ranger Jane’s Beach School.
