Children's book swap library available for South Tyneside residents on this community bus

The Key Community Bus is bringing a children's book swap library to South Tyneside, aiming to promote reading.

A children’s book swap library is travelling around the borough on a community bus.

Ran by Key, a charity that operates across South Tyneside and aims to prevent youth homelessness and tackle poverty, the Community Bus aims to bring affordable food, support and activities across the borough while reducing food waste.

Also aboard the bus is a children’s book swap library.

Located on the front of the bus, the charity says it is “proving more popular than ever.”

Key, via social media, said: “We've created a brighter, more welcoming space for young readers to browse, borrow and swap books.

“In fact, we're having to top it up every couple of weeks!

“We even spotted one of our spooky passengers enjoying a copy of Funnybones today...

“Pop aboard, discover a new story and help keep the shelves stocked by bringing along any children's books you've outgrown.”
