South Tyneside firms get behind fighter as he prepares for hometown world title bout


Nathan McCarthy will be going up against Frenchman Ari Quitusisa for the vacant IKF World Title Belt.
The bout will be the headline fight on a night which will see kickboxers of all ages take to compete for a number of titles up for grabs.

Hide AdThe 25-year-old, a student at Kuei-Ling Kickboxing Academy in Maxwell Street, South Shields, is being supported by a number of businesses as he sets his sights on winning the world title.
It will be the first time he has competed for a world title in his hometown.
Among those supporting the sportsman, is Relalign Sports and Holistic Massage and Premier Nutrition.
The Little Haven Hotel have also thrown their weight behind the event while main sponsor of the night North East Refurbishment Painting and Decorating have enabled the night to go ahead.

Hide AdCoach Steve East said: “This could be one of our biggest shows to date.
“Everyone taking part are working hard in training and there’s a real buzz around the place.
“All the ring side seats have been sold, which is a great, but we would love to see the place packed out.
“The sponsors have been great. We couldn’t have put on a show without them.”
