The striker, on a third-year scholarship, has spent the season on the sidelines with an unspecified injury.
But Gosforth-born Heardman – who hasn't featured for the Under-21s since late last season – has been offered a six-month professional deal by the club.

Newcastle have informed a number of third-year scholars, including Ben Pollock, that they will not be offered deals.
Pollock, Luke Charman, Louis Johnson, Jake Trodd and Lewis Suddick will also leave United in the summer.
