The Osmonds are to bring their Christmas show to the North East
Seventies pop heart-throbs The Osmonds are taking a very special Christmas show on tour - including a date in the North East.
One of the biggest pop sensations of the early '70s, the family group from Utah, USA, are still going strong.
The Osmond Brothers – Alan, Wayne, Merrill, and Jay - recorded their first album in 1963.
Their commercial peak was between 1970-1975, when they enjoyed a string of hits with singles such as Crazy Horses, Love Me For A Reason and Let Me In.
With the addition of siblings Donny, Marie, and Jimmy, collectively and individually, the family sold more 100 million albums around the world.
They later turned their attentions to television, and The Donny & Marie Show was a huge success on US TV network ABC from 1976-1979.
Their 1974 hit Love Me For A Reason went global again over 20 years later, when covered to huge success by Boyzone.

They have turned their attentions to many different genres of music over the years, from bubblegum pop to hard rock, and easy listening to country.
The Osmonds are still as active now as they ever were, and are still fronted by founding members Merrill and Jay.
Even though their commercial peak has passed, The Osmonds have never stopped recording and performing.
No other musical family can match their harmonies, and they're taking their show on the road again this Christmas.
Their UK tour includes a date at Newcastle City Hall on Saturday, November 17. Ticket details are available here.
