Sarah Hunt launched Rosebud Holistics when after 19 years as a biomedical scientist her role was made redundant.

Soon after, she decided to turn her reflexology hobby into a business, setting up at first in a salon in Whitburn before deciding to run the business from home.

The 43-year-old now has a dedicated room within the garden of her home in North Guards, Whitburn, where she carries out a range of holistic therapies.

Mrs Hunt said: “The decision to move the business from the salon to my home was to benefit my clients as I was having a lot of people asking about appointments that were outside the normal salon opening times.

“By having my own place in the garden it offers much more flexibility, as I can offer evening appointments as well as on a Sunday.

“I’ve worked really hard to make the garden and the room such a warm, inviting and relaxing place for clients.”

Since launching her business, Mrs Hunt has expanded on her qualifications in holistic therapies to enable her to offer more treatments to people.

Treatments include: Reflexology, hot stone reflexology, crystal treatments, facials, Indian head massage and manicures.

Mrs Hunt, a member of the Guild of Holistic Therapists, has also expanded her services to offer baby reflexology tuition to parents.

She added: “My client base is definitely expanding and the feedback I’m receiving is really good. I’ve had inquiries from people not just from South Tyneside, but from further afield. It’s definitely growing.

“I’m always learning new therapies and adding to the list of services I can offer to people.

“Baby reflexology is one of the new services I’ve trained in. I offer one-to-one sessions for mums in their own home.

“It’s different from baby massage and baby yoga, and mums will learn reflexology in tandem with me.”

Rosebud Logistics is open Monday to Saturday, 11.30am-6pm and Sundays 2pm-6pm. Evening appointments are also available.
