Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 23 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.

5. Xena (Cane Corso)
Xena is a gorgeous girl with a wonderful nature and a personality to match! She is super friendly, people-orientated and absolutely loves spending time with her humans. She enjoys attention, tasty treats and getting out and about, and has been lovely when meeting other dogs, sometimes enjoying a playful interaction and other times simply being happy in their company. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
6. Jasmine (French Bulldog)
Jasmine is a typical little French Bulldog with a big personality and an even bigger love for people! She is a very friendly, affectionate girl who loves attention and being the centre of everyone’s world. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
7. Walter
Walter is a lovely young chap who loves to explore his surrounding and find fun things to play with! Walter sadly came in to the shelter as a stray so staff know nothing about his previous life. However since being there, he has been a friendly young boy who will happily entertain himself with string and feather toys or equally enjoys human interaction. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
8. Willow (Labrador)
Willow is a brilliant young lady who is full of energy! She’s a super switched on girl who likes to be busy. She can be a little shy initially when meeting new people, but it doesn’t take her long to warm up – especially if treats or a ball are involved! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
