Overhead line obstruction in South Tyneside causes Metro delays in Sunderland

An overhead line obstruction is causing delays on the Tyne and Wear Metro network.

The problem is affecting services on the line between Airport and South Hylton on Sunday, December 8.

The service tweeted at 12pm: “There are delays of up to 20 mins to trains running between Airport and South Hylton in both directions due to obstruction on the overhead line in the Brockley Whins area.

Network Rail have staff on route to remove this object. Please leave extra time for your journey.”
