Metro delays after train is withdrawn from service

There are delays on the Metro in South Tyneside today.

The service Tweeted this morning, Tuesday, January 3, that a train has been withdrawn from service at Pelaw.

As a result of the train being removed, there is a gap in the service of up to 15 minutes to trains running between Pelaw and South Shields in both directions.

Travellers are being urged to leave extra time for their journeys .
