Two in hospital after car smashes through house

Two people have been treated by paramedics after a dramatic crash saw a car smash into a house.

The incident happened at Dudley Lane, in Seaton Burn, North Tyneside at 10.16am this morning.

The Vauxhall Vectra car crashed into a bungalow causing "substantial structural damage" to the house, according to reports.

The two occupants of the car have reportedly been treated by ambulance staff and taken to Cramlington Hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be serious.

One man was in the house at the time. Dudley Lane has been closed in both directions. Police are investigating the cause of the collision.
