Rafael Benitez is keen to strength his side's attacking threat next season and has been credited with an interest in Hull City striker Abel Hernandez.

The Birmingham Mail reports that the Uruguayan international, who will be a free agent this summer, has caught the eye of Benitez as the Spaniard eyes some reinforcements up top.

Celtic, Wolves and Nottingham Forest are also said to be keen on a move for the 27-year-old, who netted eight goals in 10 appearances for the Tigers this season having returned from injury in March.

Newcastle have also been linked with 22-year-old attacking midfielder Donis Avdijaj, who looks set to leave Schalke this summer.

A Kosovan international, Avdijaj is attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs - including Everton and Huddersfield - according to the Daily Mail.

The German side had high hopes for the midfielder, but he has failed to make an impression at Schalke and was shipped out on loan to Roda JC in Holland this season.

Now with just a year left on his contract, Avdijaj looks set for a move away from the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile at Sunderland, Joel Asoro continues to be linked with a move away from the Stadium of Light with the Daily Star reporting on Sunday that Arsenal and Tottenham have joined Wolves in the race to land the 19-year-old striker.
