WATCH: Bomb scare in Durham caused by 'old suitcase full of CDs and DVDs'


Workers were evacuated and a a stretch of Old Elvet was been closed off between the Dun Cow pub, close to Durham Crown Court, and the junction with New Elvet after a suspect package was discovered this morning.
It came on the same day as explosions in Brussels at the airport and metro system.

Hide AdThe bomb squad from Catterick was called in, and a bomb disposal robot deployed to deal with the package.
But the suspect item was found to be a suitcase full of DVDs and CDs.
Durham Police said the cordon was being lifted and people would be allowed back into work.
