WATCH: Rob Elliot injures knee, Shay Given worries for Newcastle

Rob Elliot's knee injury on duty for Republic of Ireland has given Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez a huge goalkeeping problem ahead of their crunch relegation clash with Norwich City.

Elliot was stretchered off after appearing to twist his right knee after conceding a goal in the friendly against Slovakia.

Fellow Ireland goalkeeper and former Newcastle star Shay Given was watching from the TV studio, and said it was a major concern the Magpies.

He said: “He’s clearly in distress.

“It’s a worry for Ireland and of course Newcastle as well.”
