After one of the wettest May’s on record, South Tyneside finally looks set for some warmer weather as we head into the bank holiday weekend (Saturday, May 29 to Monday, May 31).
According to Met Office forecasters, the borough is looking for a dry and sunny long weekend, with temperatures averaging at around 17°C.

Saturday, May 29
Saturday looks set to be the mildest day of the weekend, with temperatures set to average around 15°C.
According to Met Office forecasters, the day will start off cloudy before seeing some sunny spells just before lunchtime.
Cloud patches are expected to disappear as we head throughout the afternoon, with bright skies prominent into the evening.

Bright sunny weather is predicted to last all day however the Met Office is saying that it could feel slightly cooler along the coast.
The weather is expected to remain dry however the borough could see some low cloud and fog overnight.
Monday, May 31
More of the same for bank holiday Monday, with temperatures once again settling at around 17°C.

It looks set to be a warm night on Monday, with temperatures not expected to drop below 13°C.
