Hour-by hour: Here's what the weather has in store for South Tyneside this weekend

The Met Office says today and tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6, will both be dry and bright.

But a fresh sea breeze will ensure the mercury doesn’t climb too high.

Today is the best of the two but even then, temperatures are predicted to climb no higher than 17C this evening, the equivalent of 63F.

The North East forecast for the weekend says: “A dry morning with prolonged warm sunshine after a rather chilly start. A little more cloud through the afternoon but staying dry.

"Feeling warm inland with light winds. Sea breezes keeping things slightly cooler along North Sea coasts.”

Tonight will be largely fine and dry with clear periods, becoming cloudier later in the night.

Sunday will see variable cloud but it will be widely dry with some sunny spells through the morning.

Some areas will see afternoon showers breaking out but the chance of rain in South Tyneside is less than five per cent.

The weather will remaining warm with plenty of fine, dry weather and light winds for the beginning of the week, though there is a risk of daytime showers on Monday and Tuesday, as well as coastal mist and low cloud.
