Temperatures will reach highs of 24°C in South Tyneside on Wednesday.

Temperatures across the borough will soar to 24°C, as South Tyneside continues to back in warm weather on Wednesday (June 9).

It will be mostly sunny with some cloud developing in the early evening and it will get breezier throughout the day.

However, forecasters predict it will remain largely dry with minimum temperatures of 16°C forecast for the borough.

The Met Office’s summary for the North East on Wednesday says: “Probably a warmer but rather cloudy day on the whole.

"Most areas should stay dry throughout, although there is a chance of isolated showers developing later.

"Becoming breezier, especially over western hills where the odd spot of rain is possible. Maximum temperature 24 °C.”
