South Shields weather forecast: This is when we will see the sunshine again after gloomy Easter Sunday and Monday
This year’s Easter weekend in South Shields brought one day of glorious sun and warmth to a difficult and testing time during the coronavirus lockdown.
But the sunshine of Saturday, April 11 gave way to grey skies, drizzle and chilly temperatures across the rest of the bank holiday weekend.
With almost half of the Easter holiday fortnight left to come for many families across South Tyneside, here’s hoping for some nice weather so we can get out in the garden.
When will we see the sun return to South Shields in the coming days?
Met Office forecasters are currently predicting a mixed week for South Shields with a fair share of cloudy and overcast days – but don’t worry, there is some sun in sight.
Wednesday, April 15 is set to be the best day of the week, with highs of 17°C and not a cloud in the sky.
And while it’s due to be a bit grey, we can at least take solace in the fact that it’s not going to rain!
The outlook for later in the week said: “Feeling warmer Wednesday and Thursday with long sunny spells.
“Overnight frosts becoming less widespread. Friday cooler and cloudier but remaining fine.”
At present, Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 are the worst days of our week. There will be lows of 6°C and no sun to speak of.
Going forward, the Met Office predicts that the region’s weather will remain settled, with dry weather and sunny spells in our future.
