South Tyneside to be warmer than Rio de Janeiro as temperatures are set to soar
With sunny weather expected to hit South Tyneside, temperatures are expected to be higher than Rio de Janeiro.
Highs of 25°C are expected in South Tyneside, whereas Rio will experience highs of 24°C, according to Met Office forecasters.

Forecasters at the Met Office are predicting a cooler start to the week, with highs of 18°C expected on Monday and Tuesday.
Cloud is expected to build throughout Monday, with the “odd shower possible” however most places will remain dry.
That cloud is predicted to turn into rain as we head into Tuesday, August 4, with some heavier bursts.
"Brighter spells” are expected over the course of Tuesday afternoon and although forecasts are saying it will not rain, wind speeds are thought to rise bringing a cooler feel.
Wednesday onwards
Temperatures are expected to jump to 22°C on Wednesday, August 5 and will continue to rise heading into the weekend.
The Met Office website says: “Overnight rain, perhaps heavy for a time Wednesday morning, easing through the day. Blustery winds also easing. Fine, increasingly sunny and turning very warm on Thursday."
Thursday, August 6 will see another rise, with 24°C predicted to be the high.
Friday will be the best day temperature wise this week, with highs of 25°C and sunny spells throughout the day.
Heading into the weekend
Saturday will be slightly cooler, with temperatures dropping to 22°C.
