We’re strengthening our Jarrow printing firm with a new wave of investment

A Jarrow printing firm has strengthened its production capabilities.

Cut Print Solutions, based at the Jarrow Business Centre, has experienced a new wave of investment that is designed to bring more work in-house and support the company’s rapid expansion.

The business, which was founded by husband-and-wife team Stephen and Margaret Downey in 2023, has made two major additions to its finishing department due to a surge in demand for its products and services.

As a result, the company has installed a Veloblade Nexus, a £67,000 investment, to enhance its cutting capabilities and improve efficiency across a growing range of work.

Then last month, Cut Print Solutions invested in a Plockmatic VF collator to allow the business to bring NCR pad production fully in-house.

Having previously completed the work manually, the new equipment significantly accelerates turnaround times and reduces bottlenecks as the business continues to scale.

Speaking about the investment, company director Margaret Downey said: “Our growth over the past year has been incredible and investing in the right equipment that enables us to bring more work in-house is key to maintaining quality and efficiency.

“We’re committed to investing in the tools and technology that will help us continue to grow right here in South Tyneside.”

Cut Print Solutions now employs seven staff and continues to broaden its equipment portfolio as it looks to serve its diverse client base.
