Woman rescued after slipping on rocks near Trow Point in South Shields
South Shields Volunteer Life Brigade (SSVLB) were called at 10.55pm on Monday, July 6, to reports that a woman had slipped at Trow Rocks and dislocated her ankle.
Crew located the woman and assessed her injuries before helping her off the rocks.

Hide AdShe was taken to hospital by a friend’s parents, but her injuries are not said to be serious.
A spokesperson for SSVLB said: “The team were tasked to the beach opposite the Sand Dancer after a report of a female slipping on the rocks and dislocating her ankle.
“Team members made contact with the first informant who directed them to Trow Rocks. We located the female and assessed her injuries which were not as serious as reported.
“We assisted her off the rocks and relocated to the road where her friend’s parents arrived to take her to A&E.”
