X Factor star Joe McElderry takes time off Joseph for hometown gig

South Shields singing star Joe McElderry is taking time out from his theatrical tour to perform in his hometown.

Joe McElderry is starring in the lead role on a UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The 24-year-old is playing the lead in a UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

But Joe, from Westoe, is taking time out to put on a show at the Customs House, in Mill Dam, South Shields, on Sunday.

The X Factor and Popstar to Opera Star champ has set time aside in his hectic schedule for the special show.

Joe will be returning to the Customs House, where he once worked as a dish washer, in August, for his Northern Light Tour.

Joe, who starred in rock opera The Who’s Tommy last year, is taking his tour to the venue on August 19 and 20. Tickets cost from £21.50 and are on sale now.
