Yedlin set for spell on sidelines with injury
The defender was not involved in tonight’s goalless draw against Reading at the Madejski Stadium.
It is feared that Yedlin – who had come off the bench against Huddersfield Town at the weekend and started last week’s win over Brighton – has suffered a thigh tear.

Benitez said: “Yedlin didn’t realise he had the problem against Brighton. We protected him against Huddersfield, but he had to come on. But he was complaining, and you could see that maybe it would be one week or two weeks. He had a knock. Maybe has a small tear.”
Meanwhile, Jaap Stam backed Newcastle United to win promotion to the Premier League after watching them hold his Reading side to a goalless draw.
The two sides couldn’t be separated at the Madejski Stadium last night.

“In think Newcastle will get away – they are a quality side,” said Stam.
“They are not giving many chances away. They can always break and create a chance to score a goal. They have a lot of quality to do well against every team. They are lots of points ahead. They will get away.”
On the game, Stam added: “We played very well against a good side like Newcastle. I am very happy with the performance.

“This was against a side like this, who have a lot of quality with a good manager. We could have done a little better by scoring one goal. We need to keep on going.”
